Description

This project, funded by PRIN from the Italian Ministry of University and Research and conducted in collaboration with Politecnico of Milan, focuses on administrative capacity—its definitions, measurement methods, policy interventions, and economic impacts. It introduces new ways to measure administrative capacity and aims also to understand the reasons behind territorial variations in administrative capacity levels, as well as their socio-economic impacts. Moreover, the project evaluates the relevance, effectiveness, and usefulness of ongoing capacity-building initiatives and public administration reforms. The research is conducted at the local and regional levels in Italy.
