RIPP Special Issue published: Populism, public administration and public policy in Italy
The Rivista Italiana di Politiche Pubbliche (RIPP) has published a new Special Issue in volume 3/2025 (December 2025) titled “Populism, Public Administration and Public Policy in Italy.” The Special Issue is edited by Fabrizio Di Mascio, Paolo Graziano, Alessandro Natalini, and Laura Polverari.
The collection brings together original contributions that appraise the impact of Italian populist governments on key areas of public administration and public policy that have so far received limited attention in the international literature. In particular, it focuses on ministerial advisors, independent regulatory authorities, and subnational governments. Italy represents a particularly relevant case, having experienced six coalition governments dominated by populist parties between 2001 and 2025.
